Always working, sometimes finishing

Trying to make a few things that hold together
Some things sound truer in a song. Others need a line break or two to land right. I’ve been following both instincts lately—chasing whatever shape a feeling seems to ask for.
I write lyrics that live somewhere between earnest and odd. Some pair with rough demo-style compositions, some just sit on their own, waiting for the right voice. I also write poems—sometimes messy, sometimes still warm—and share those occasionally on Substack. Not for an audience exactly, more like a ritual: a way to slow down and notice what I almost missed. And I’ve been drawing and painting since I was a kid. Back then it was terrible. Now it’s less terrible. When I’ve got a few I can stand to look at, I’ll put them here too. Or you might find them on Instagram. Or not. No promises.
